When I was 16, my brain started to feel impossible to live with. I knew it wasn’t just typical teenage angst and hormones I was dealing with, but something more — I was eventually diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, or Ocd. The anxiety disorder, which affects approximately 1.2% of adults in the US, is characterized by frequent unwanted, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts carried out in response (compulsions). And I think [Marciano] might still be going through a divorce. So we know what it’s like to have your entire life upended, career and personal life. [Editor’s note: This interview contains spoilers for the final episode of Hulu’s “We Were the Lucky Ones.”]
It’s always darkest before the dawn, and that was certainly the case for “We Were the Lucky Ones,” the Hulu miniseries based on the true story of the Kurc family, Jews from Poland who managed to all survive WWII.
The final episode (the show concluded May 2) begins with Halina Kurc (Joey King) imprisoned in Germany. Successfully hiding in plain sight for years, she is eventually captured, and regularly beaten up in jail. All hope seems lost.
“[They were] some of the most intense scenes in the whole show [for] my character,” King told IndieWire. “It’s tough, it’s violent. It’s tough to watch, but it’s also really important. And I think where we landed with it was very helpful in showcasing how brutal it was without being gratuitous. [Showrunner Erica Lipez,] she never wanted to be gratuitous [about] violence towards women. I really love that point of view.

In Hear Me Out, Primetimer staffers and contributors passionately espouse their pet theories, spicy takes, and even the occasional galaxy-brain idea.
The wildest twist on TV this year is hiding in the least likely place –– Apple TV+’s Sugar. When the first looks at Colin Farrell’s noir drama set in Hollywood came out, it seemed pretty straightforward. Farrell plays John Sugar, an Old Hollywood-obsessed detective looking for the missing granddaughter of a famous filmmaker. Walking through the equally seedy worlds of Los Angeles dive bars and obscenely wealthy mansions, Sugar is a progressive embodiment of the noir movies he loves — and Farrell is fantastic in the role.

Walking through the equally seedy worlds of Los Angeles dive bars and obscenely wealthy mansions, Sugar is a progressive embodiment of the noir movies he loves — and Farrell is fantastic in the role.

This Is Us fans will get a treat in the upcoming Tracker finale, as Jennifer Morrison and Justin Hartley, whose characters were great friends on the popular NBC drama, will be reunited. Speaking to Collider, Hartley, who serves as the lead actor and executive producer for Tracker, revealed his former This Is Us co-star will have a “key role” in the finale. “I’ll give you a little tidbit, in the finale, we have Jennifer Morrison coming on to play a key role,” Hartley told the publication. “I haven’t worked with her since This Is Us , and she comes on as an old family friend of Colter’s, from way back when they were kids. And so, that whole family dynamic leaks out a little bit through her experience with him in the finale.” He added, “So, there’s that. I probably wasn’t supposed to tell you that,...

Johnny Carson has arrived on Netflix. Or rather, a deepfake version of him has.
A scene in Jerry Seinfeld’s new movie for the streamer features the comic in a scene with Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon on a 1960s-era episode of The Tonight Show.
Unfrosted, which is Seinfeld’s directorial debut, follows the (highly fictionalized) creation of the Pop-Tart in the 1960s.
The scene in question features Seinfeld’s character, fictional Pop-Tarts mastermind Bob Cabana, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1963. Since Carson passed away in 2005, creating the scene meant deepfaking Carson’s face while an actor delivered the lines in Carson’s voice. That role went to comedian Kyle Dunnigan.
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Unfrosted co-writer and producer (and former Fox late-night host) Spike Feresten revealed that Dunnigan insisted on finding new angles into a Carson impression.

Missed Tuesday’s late-night monologues? We’ve got you covered with our round-up of the night’s best laughs from across the dial.
The Defense Rests
After a day off, Donald Trump’s election fraud/hush money trial was back in session on Thursday. That meant plenty more ammo for late-night hosts, especially since Trumps’ presence in the New York courtroom entails everything from tiny crowds of supporters (literally one lady showed up today), frequent in-session naps, and the occasional toilet humor-derived insulting nickname read out in front of a helplessly scowling (or snoring) Trump.
It’s no secret at this point that all the major hosts are no fans of the former President/current defendant, with Stephen Colbert going out of his way to contrast a lovely May day with his frequent target’s daily legal routine. “It was a beautiful Spring day here in New York City. 10 out...

There's a thin line between love and hate — especially when it comes to romance stories. The enemies-to-lovers trope is a tried and true genre staple, most recently demonstrated in the Brooke Shields–Cary Elwes holiday drama A Castle For Christmas. It follows bestselling American romance author Sophie Brown (Shields) as she travels to Scotland, where she clashes with grumpy Scottish duke Myles (Elwes). The two spar at first, but their hard exteriors begin to soften as they realize their sparks are indicative of an electric romantic chemistry.
But if you finished A Castle For Christmas and are immediately ready to dive into a new change-of-heart romance where the protagonists have a hard time discerning their attraction from anger, here’s a list of films you can stream right now.

Every winter, the Netflix holiday universe expands exponentially, adding new stories of happenstance romance and mistletoe make-outs to its stable of original movies. But which of said rom-coms is the most festive of them all? We decided to put that to the test, ranking all of our favorite festive romances using a very refined, calculated and specific evaluation process: snowiness, coziness, decor and grinchiness (Is someone a holiday...

For many people, high school isn’t the easiest time. Between the not-so-great fashion choices (whose idea was it to layer two polos on top of each other?), awkward exchanges with your crush and the insane pressure to decide what you want to do with your life, simply trying to, well, be a normal person is hard. And it’s not even just about school: Coming into your own is arguably even harder than passing any class with a B+ average. While this may never be a time that you would want to relive, stories on-screen can often show that there was beauty in the process.
Even if you did have a table to sit at in the lunchroom during high school, these coming-of-age films, including the newly released Tall Girl 2, capture many relatable facets of growing up — in all its painful glory.

It doesn’t matter what your relationship status is: single. Coupled. Throupled. Complicated. Sometimes you just want to sit on your couch with a big bowl of popcorn and a generous pour of your favorite sipping drink and watch a sexy romance. There’s no shame in admitting when you want something so juicy that it’ll make you hit the rewind button or drop exclamation marks into the group chat. But what makes a good sex scene? What tips the scale into steamy? It’s much more than beautiful people kissing set to a lush soundtrack or a full-nude romp in the sack. No, no. The desire is in the details. Long before Lee Jung-jae donned a green jumpsuit that would earn him unprecedented global fame and accolades in Squid Game, he’d already built a storied career as one of South Korea’s most celebrated actors. After working as a model for a few years, Lee made his acting debut in the 1993 Sbs K-drama Dinosaur Teacher. The following year he appeared in his first feature, The Young Man, for which he won the best newcomer award at the three most prestigious awards ceremonies in Korea, the Blue Dragon Film Awards, the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Grand Bell Awards — a feat that was practically unheard of at the time. However, his breakout role came in the 1995 K-drama Sandglass (aka Hourglass), deemed one of the most significant dramas in South Korean history. The drama was so popular at the time that the entire nation was said to have been swept...

March marks National Women’s History Month, but let’s be real — every month should serve as a time to celebrate the contributions of women throughout history. And what better way to both see and celebrate these acts of bravery than through films, which capture some of the most intimate moments in notable women’s lives and tell their harrowing stories?
Whether they’re working to put on the performance of a lifetime, like in Beyoncé’s Homecoming, or working to make a change in our nation’s capital, like in Knock Down the House, women are putting in the work, and their stories prove it. In the eloquent words of a certain theme song, “Females are strong as hell.”...

What defines a Ryan Reynolds performance? Is it his wry comedic timing? The almost illegal amount of charisma he projects on screen? The three-piece suits? More than likely, it’s a combination of all of the above, a potent witch’s brew of Hollywood fairy dust that makes this Canadian actor and producer one of our most compelling movie stars. Whether he’s gushing about the genius of Betty White in a documentary tribute to her life, trading bodies with Ben Kingsley in Self/Less or leading a pack of neon-clad vigilantes in 6 Underground, what defines his brand of star power is that you want to see how he tackles every role.
Red Notice is no exception. As international art thief Nolan Booth, Reynolds is at it again, this time alongside Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, arguably the only other two actors on the planet who are as compulsively watchable as he is.

Kirsten Dunst has grown up on-screen. From her big break as precocious baby vampire Claudia in 1994’s Interview with the Vampire,in which she stole scenes from no less than Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, she’s been an emblem of her era of popular culture — and shaped it, too. Her portrayals of languid Lux Lisbon in Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides and “cheer-tator” Torrance Shipman in 2000’s Bring It On are indelible portrayals of the inner lives of teenage girls. As Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man, she helped usher in our obsession with superheroes. And where would millennial pink be without Marie Antoinette?
In fact, perhaps she’s been such a Hollywood staple that the industry simply forgot to formally acknowledge her talent — until now. Dunst’s performance as Rose Gordon in Jane Campion’s The Power of the Doghas earned hermultiple award nominations, including a nod for...
